Snow Storm!
A fantastic blizzard is marching through New York.

I have lived most of my life in bitterly miserable and wintry places (ie. Fort Wayne IN, Buffalo NY), so accumulating snow is nothing novel -- but this weekend's storm is particulary interesting in the way it has converted New York's landscape and successfully challenged the city's ego in one sweeping front. While shops are open and the subway continues to slide up and down the underground, the streets are empty except for a few fareless cabs delicately maneuvering and the particulary brazen streetgoers searching for an open video store. The City that never seems to stop (or sleep) is countered, and most people stare blankly at all of the whiteness wondering just what they are going to do -- since they can't do it quickly.

I for one wish I had a sled, cross-country skis, or a bunch of friends willing to play capture the flag in the streets downtown.

That NYer piece was pretty awesome... I'm so proud! Stay warm up there buddy... if it's 38 degrees here it must be insane up there. I suggest taking all the shirts in the rear closet and putting them on all at once, or huddling naked in front of an oven... it's working for me.

Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wake Forest. After college, I moved to Manhattan to get serious about a company I ran with friends. We sold it to Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp in 2006. I just wrapped up with a project I co-founded called Vimeo and left CV to focus on being a twenty-five year old.

I have another blog called Copy and Taste, where I post about learning to cook.

I live in Brooklyn now.
