imeem
Currently installing imeem. Has anyone else used it?

Update: It is very neat. Well developed, intuitive, and surprisingly comprehensive. I currently have a crush on this software.

An ad-based revenue model. Figures. (I installed it today at Zach's urging. It's cool.)

I wonder how/where they are going to run AdWords on this? The Amazon book suggestions seem to be random; I wouldn't mind a little encouragement from my Amazon WishList down there.

Does it do a decent job with file transfers? If I could just set up a huge share folder and let my friends search and pull files out of it on their own I'd use this all the time.

Yep, it does! The file-sharing aspect is one of its neatest features.

I just installed it. It's like the Internet, only less big. I guess I don't get it.

yeah, i'm kinda feeling that too; it brings a lot of different things together (blogs, file sharing, IM) but when all is said and done is it worth having another application and creating another user profile? especially when i have to try and convince my friends to download it.

Think long term. This, or something like it, will replace AIM.

Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wake Forest. After college, I moved to Manhattan to get serious about a company I ran with friends. We sold it to Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp in 2006. I just wrapped up with a project I co-founded called Vimeo and left CV to focus on being a twenty-five year old.

I have another blog called Copy and Taste, where I post about learning to cook.

I live in Brooklyn now.
