I love the animation, but cannot help recalling the series of commercials that has the same effect. Do you know what it is called?

That type of animation is called rotoscoping...it's filmed digitally than animated over that.

It's cool for like 5 seconds, but it's really like a real film to which someone applied a photoshop filter to every frame.

It seems like the type of film that could have some potential in terms of warning people about where our society is headed, but I think the cartoony-ness of it detracts from that value because it makes the premise appear less realistic.

There's an article in the current Wired magazine about this technique. The trailer looks great...can't wait for this one!

Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wake Forest. After college, I moved to Manhattan to get serious about a company I ran with friends. We sold it to Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp in 2006. I just wrapped up with a project I co-founded called Vimeo and left CV to focus on being a twenty-five year old.

I have another blog called Copy and Taste, where I post about learning to cook.

I live in Brooklyn now.
