![]() Artist's rendition of the indoor beach. I received an unsolicited phonecall from a man representing KemQuest Ventures, Inc. I am not sure how he got my number, but he was calling to drum up investment interest to create and design, a world-class, one-hundred-twenty-million dollar, domed, futuristic, interactive, indoor city with a Polynesian theme including: a beach and water park, entertainment complex, hotel, spa, and an aquarium. I'm not sure if this is legit. I requested an executive summary because I was interested, but mostly in order to get him off the phone. He emailed it to me soon after: Our Beach Pavilion, situated in a massive dome, will consist of a record breaking four acre indoor beach with a man-made realistic shoreline and boardwalk Our Water Kingdom Pavilion will consist of an assortment of rides designed to get patrons wet.Designed as an area to allow guests to warm up, dry off, and relax, Our Hospitality Pavilion is to include a public sun room with specially designed state of the art heating elements in its ceiling structure for warmth, comfort, and reduced dry-off time. Our Spa Pavilion is designed as an escape from the stimulation and adrenaline rush of the rest of the complex. Drawing on the five elements of Chinese philosophy, and other ancient Asian traditions that date back centuries, the Spa Pavilion aims for total body rejuvenation. Our Entertainment World Pavilion will encompass everything from a virtual reality theater and video arcade, to a musical comedy theater, rainforest jungle-gym, and underground caverns. Our food pavilion will consist of a variety of American and foreign fare. The pavilion will include both kosher and non-kosher cuisine, buffets, fine dining, fast food restaurants, Italian dessert cafes, "outdoor" seating, and dinner shows. Our aquarium will house many exotic fish, a touch and feed arena, a water ride that takes visitors into the "deep sea", and an aquatic museum. The Polynesian style hotel will house the resort portion of the complex. The Hotel itself will include a ballroom, eateries, wedding chapels, and its own water ride. Our parking garage will be a multi-level indoor parking facility to accommodate all guests from the aquarium, hotel, theatre, and water park complex. The garage will house three thousand vehicles at full capacity. To cap it all off, it's proposed to be built near the Woodstock site. 11

A domed indoor island/city with a Polynesian theme, that sounds a lot like the Tropical Islands park near Berlin: http://www.my-tropical-islands.com/fotos/index-e.htm 4:44 PM jumboshrimp said... yeah, I think they have those in Asia, too. weird, right? 4:58 PM said... i saw this the other day.. indoor beach in japan. the picture you got is taken from here. http://www.impactlab.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=7500 8:30 PM Brian Balfour said... Yeah I saw something on TV about the one in Japan. They have some amazing artificial wave generator that produces waves big enough to have a barrel. Surfers apparently love the place becuase it is guarenteed perfect waves all the time. The place is extremely popular in Japan and definitely banks some cash. However this has a feeling of a hoax. 9:53 PM jumboshrimp said... I remember reading about it--the article also discussed indoor ski resorts...so, apparently those exist, too. I vaguely remember the indoor beach having UV lights, so you could still get a wee bit of a tan. weird, weird... 12:56 AM nelson said... Sure sign for Suppendapo 5:46 AM paul said...
