Maine
I went to Maine (now on my roster of places to live) with my sister Taylor this weekend. We met in Portland on Friday and then meandered north along the coast in our rental car stopping ever so often to photograph a lighthouse or lay on a beach. Then, this morning we reached Saint George, where I dropped her off at Outward Bound's Coastal Sailing Program. For the next 16 days she'll be sailing a ketch with 9 other people. So, that's really cool, and I am proud of her for doing it -- It's some beautiful, rugged adventure at its best.

I took a few pictures ... can't wait to see hers.

I think I did the same course when I was in High School. She's going to have a blast. The ropes course was crazy. We saw whales at one point. The solo was only 2 days, I think, so there's nothing to be worried about there. As long as there is wind, you don't have to worry about the oars too much (except sleeping on them). Wow. I'm really jealous. It was a great trip.

I love Maine! It's incredible there. You should definitely check out Acadia National Park next time you go. :)

Nice pictures, too.

What a gerat opportunity!! I hope Taylor has a great time on the water learning a new skill but also meeting new people.

Your vacation sounded like a blast. Those are exactly the types of adventures I want to experience in the future.

Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wake Forest. After college, I moved to Manhattan to get serious about a company I ran with friends. We sold it to Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp in 2006. I just wrapped up with a project I co-founded called Vimeo and left CV to focus on being a twenty-five year old.

I have another blog called Copy and Taste, where I post about learning to cook.

I live in Brooklyn now.
