My first Burn

I am leaving for Burning Man tomorrow tonight -- flying to Sacramento where my friends Jeff and Margot are picking me up before we all drive to Nevada together. Jakob is coming too.

Anyone else going? Let me know ...

You guys will have a great time! Maybe we'll go next year, so you'll have to tell us all about it.
I think it'll be the exact opposite of your Tahoe adventure.

I've seen enough of your naked dance pictures to know you'll fit right in.

I would add wd-40 (or something like it) to the list. For the roller skates. Mostly...

I think it's hilarious that you're going to Burning Man! I thought about going last year but the ticket price enraged me.

Aside: way to travel cross-country without coming to see me. Thanks. I'm giving up on all of you East Coasters*. You're never going to get another visit out of me. And I don't care if my visit-nags have reached totally obnoxious proportions!

*except Chris, Becky, Ethan.

THAT IS A FREAKING AWESOME PACK-LIST!! Man, you rock.
I like what Sean said about bartering - good idea. And, hey - don't forget a few pairs of cheap sunglasses!

your pack list is, indeed, awesome. it's also a good idea to have a pair of goggles and a mask of sorts for the playa dust. have a stellar time! i'm super-jealous that you're going!

Zack --

I am so jealous. I was lucky enough to meet some burners when I went to see one of my best friends where they were going relief work in Pearlington, MS (http://flickr.com/photos/skidder/115679246/).

They used their skill in surviving in devastating environments to help Pearlington (see http://www.burnerswithoutborders.org/).

I hope to see photos!

I checked out the book list on Jeff's site. All I can say is " goddam!", not just a huge number but a rather ecclectic selection too.

Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wake Forest. After college, I moved to Manhattan to get serious about a company I ran with friends. We sold it to Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp in 2006. I just wrapped up with a project I co-founded called Vimeo and left CV to focus on being a twenty-five year old.

I have another blog called Copy and Taste, where I post about learning to cook.

I live in Brooklyn now.
