Lord Willy's: Best Shirts in Soho

I ordered custom-tailored shirts from Lord Willy's and I am pleased with the decision. Since I started wearing them, the number of "Hey, handsome shirt!" remarks have risen 300%

It's a new shop on Mott Street, between Prince and Spring, and the owners Alex and Betty Wilcox couldn't be nicer. Besides shirts, they also tailor custom jackets and suits. They have an attractive selection of handmade scarves, too.

I thought about commenting similarly of the shirt you wore at lunch yesterday, but the green buttons on blue/white pinstripes gave me pause. ;-)

Similar to a pink shirt, it takes a bold man to wear green buttons on blue and white pinstripes. Fortunately for green buttons, I'm bold.

Ditto Cho.

If you think that custom shirts might be way out of your price range, think again! It's way more managable than you think, fairly comparable to any nicer-ish dress shirts (think Steven Alan).

It's even more of a bargain when you consdier the quality of the shirt you're getting and how it's made and sized specifically for you, right down to the type of collar and hem that they match exactly for your face and body type.

ZK - you know I'm a bit more on the conservative side, but Charles Tyrwhitt (of Jermyn Street - London) just opened their second shop in NYC. One is on Madison Ave. and one is on 7th Ave. They have awesome stuff as well. It isn't custom tailored, but they have such a wide range of sizes and styles that it feels custom.

They are the only dress shirts I can wear comfortably because of my ape-ishly long arms. (37") and pencil thin neck (15.5")

Great investment. Do you mind if I ask, how much for each shirt?

Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wake Forest. After college, I moved to Manhattan to get serious about a company I ran with friends. We sold it to Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp in 2006. I just wrapped up with a project I co-founded called Vimeo and left CV to focus on being a twenty-five year old.

I have another blog called Copy and Taste, where I post about learning to cook.

I live in Brooklyn now.
