Scott Greider said... I hope the impetus for this post was Mr. Colbert's impressive wit and not Mr. Dawkin's tired, though freshly-packaged argument. ;-) 2:54 PM Evan said... Have you read The Ancestor's Tale? He also makes a guest appearance in The Next Fifty Years (read that too while you're at it). For my money, Dawkins and Daniel C. Dennett are the best darwinist authors on the planet--if you're into that sorta thing. 2:59 PM Jakob Lodwick said... Scott, if you reduce Dawkins' arguments all the way down to "there is no god", then they're certainly tired. But actually, he brings quite a few innovative ideas to the table. The thought that we're all atheists when it comes to gods like Thor, Ra, etc, is one I'd never heard from anyone else. 11:52 PM Eric said... Dawkins is more of a neo-darwinist than just a traditional darwinist like Dennett, though. 1:09 AM said... Dawkins is my hero. There really shouldn't even be a discussion about the existance of god amongst rational thinking human beings. Colbert's sarcasm aside, I read that he actually does believe in god and attends church. Can you believe that? Is that even possible? 12:46 PM Post a Comment |

![]() Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wake Forest. After college, I moved to Manhattan to get serious about a company I ran with friends. We sold it to Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp in 2006. I just wrapped up with a project I co-founded called Vimeo and left CV to focus on being a twenty-five year old. I have another blog called Copy and Taste, where I post about learning to cook. I live in Brooklyn now.
