Blood Meridian

I'm reading Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian (so good) and it's made me eager to know more about the Apaches, the Yumas, and the rogue professional armies contracted by the Mexicans and Americans to supply Native scalps for gold.

The conflicts in the West before America's official expansion campaigns are extraordinary. Complete fear and inhumanity reigned! The dark ages on the Rio Grande!

Her review is excellent. Though, it's too bad she didn't like the book.

Is she still reviewing? If so, where can I read her newest stuff?

her reviews get posted on the Cultured blog for 02138. She also has a review in the works for Gastronomica and has done a few for the San Francisco Chronicle.

Thanks for that, I'll check it out. Though I am more interested in pre-Columbian American history

Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wake Forest. After college, I moved to Manhattan to get serious about a company I ran with friends. We sold it to Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp in 2006. I just wrapped up with a project I co-founded called Vimeo and left CV to focus on being a twenty-five year old.

I have another blog called Copy and Taste, where I post about learning to cook.

I live in Brooklyn now.
