If you're looking for a digital camera ...
I recommend the Canon SD630.

I agree it's a good camera BUT, the lack of viewfinder can be a pain when you're taking shots outside on a sunny day. If this is an issue I would recommend the SD 600, it's identical except for a smaller LCD but with a viewfinder. Other than, no complaints.

i'm looking for a new point and shoot to supplement my digital slr, but i've read that cameras with large screens crack easily (this has already happened to me once)...any thoughts?

Just to add on to what Anonny said above, why your preference of the 630 over the 600? I'm thinking about buying, but don't see the real advantage of paying the extra 50 bucks for just what seems to be a larger screen.

I recently purchased the SD800 simply because it's one of the few that has a wide angle lens. I LOVE it.

This camera rocks, except the flash shots are mediocre. Great travel camera, tho.

I ordered one on Amazon this week. Should be here within a few days. I like the idea of the large LCD screen, as I don't ever really use a viewfinder, save for when I'm using my D80. It should fit the bill as a travel cam, methinks.

Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wake Forest. After college, I moved to Manhattan to get serious about a company I ran with friends. We sold it to Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp in 2006. I just wrapped up with a project I co-founded called Vimeo and left CV to focus on being a twenty-five year old.

I have another blog called Copy and Taste, where I post about learning to cook.

I live in Brooklyn now.
