Haha from Fort Wayne
Both the The Onion and The Daily Show reported from Fort Wayne this week.

First, Doyle Redland from The Onion's Radio News details Fort Wayne's new fountain that simulates a vomiting lion. The audio is here.

Then, The Daily Show sent correspondant Dan Bakkedahl to Fort Wayne to do a story on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s list of potential terrorist targets. Indiana has the distinction of having the most: 8,591. They filmed their bits at the beloved Roller Dome, the backdrop for many of my roller-hockey games and middle-school romances. It will air July 31 or August 1st.

Sibling Update #2

My older brother Justin, 31, is now a licensed real estate agent. And above is his official mug! I expect his boyish good looks will have advantage over the stereotypical gray-haired competition.

He works Western New York (upstate), and his first listing went up yesterday: A 4-bedroom home on the beautiful Rushford Lake. Not a bad a price for a scarce half-acre of lake front property. You could build a handsome cabin where the house stands now ...

So, for all your WNY lake property needs, call Justin at 716-504-7460. And, ladies, he's single.

Siblings doing good
My sister Taylor, 17, just scored a job at Fort Wayne's Downtown Improvement office (I'm envious), and I hear Noel, 22, boasts a >.300 batting average with his softball team.

Jakob's contest: On July 14th at 3pm EST, he will randomly choose one del.icio.us user who bookmarked his page, and send him or her this check for $100, no strings attached.

544 people have bookmarked the page so far, and it's the second most popular item on Delicious. If Jake would just add Google AdSense to the page, he'd have a pretty decent business model.

Hey, I made this lounge chair using mostly found materials. Thanks to Jessica Schroeder who sewed the terrycloth cushion together.
