Listening to Nico Muhly
I love Nico Muhly's album Speak Volumes. If you like good music, you'll probably like Nico, too.

Thursday afternoon notes

What's been going on with me lately:
1. Dance parties and rock shows
2. Germans visiting
3. My birthday
4. Bike-riding
5. Couple good movies
6. Winter trip planning

1. I've been dancing and partying. Notable moment: Getting roughed up and then escorted out by security at the Girl Talk show after I climbed on-stage to dance with Greg Gillis. It's cool, though, because he randomly stopped by our party later that night at the Universal Space Agency ... no big deal. BTW, that concert sponsored by Creative Commons, Wired, and Flavorpill was disappointedly overbranded. Hey -- who wants to go see Third Eye Blind play the Altoid concert series at the Apple Store with me this Friday? I'm done with sponsored events.

2. Germans everywhere. My best German pals, Fabian and Mareen, arrived within the same week of each other in late September. Fabian came to celebrate our birthdays (his 9/25, mine 9/26). Mareen is actually living here until December while pursuing photography experience. Check out her Flickr feed. Tonight, Fabian's parents, Lucia and Konrad, are arriving to spend a week with me. We've become close since I spent a Summer in Viersen in 2003.

3. I turned 24. Went to a cabin in the Catskills with some friends. Great friendship event.

4. While in the Catskills, Kunal, Paul and I took couple of killer rides through Woodstock and Phoenicia. It was tough. Sometimes we would ride 1 mile straight downhill, and all the way down I could only obsess over how much it would hurt to ride back up. We rode about 65 miles total over the two days. Here's a map of our first day route.

5. Saw Science of Sleep and The Lives of Others. I loved both.

6. This season, I would like to go snowboarding at Whistler and Jackson Hole, and visit my friends Jeff and Margot in Vail. Booking my weekends now. Need new board pants ... love the 2007 Volcom line.
